A Day in the Life of Toya Fulbright

I love that I'm able to build a community where people feel welcomed — because they'll never forget that feeling.”

See how °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Graduate Housing Resident Director builds community for her residents

Around Englehart Hall, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ students describe Toya Fulbright a few different ways.

“Kind” and “fierce” were a couple that came up as °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s resident director for graduate housing made the rounds on a recent Thursday at Englehart, home to more than 200 apartments for graduate students in Evanston. In her role at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, Fulbright trains residential staff members, develops an inclusive community and shares her passion for diversity, equity and inclusion in the school’s graduate residential community.

We caught up with Fulbright to see what a typical day is like and what makes her job at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ such a unique opportunity to connect with students and foster community.
