Until 5 May 2022, I was a Councillor for South Lanarkshire Council (of Headquarters, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA). I spent around 10-20 hours per week on this role. The remuneration I received was between £15,001 and £20,000 per annum [Amended interest 10 June 2022].
On 23 September 2023, I attended the Ayr Gold Cup at Ayr Racecourse as a guest of Scottish Racing (an organisation promoting and supporting the sport of horseracing throughout Scotland, delivering sustainability for the sport across its five Scottish Racecourses; c/o Hamilton Park Racecourse, Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0DW). I am an unremunerated director of Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) which is a business-led initiative that works in partnership with the Council to support the local business community within Hamilton Town Centre. The BID's goals and actions are set by the business community for the benefit of the business community (of Brandon Gate, 1 Leechlee Road, Hamilton, ML3 0XB). I am appointed to this role as one of two council representatives on the board of Hamilton BID.
