Travel to Israel and Palestine

8/1/24

In November 2023, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) raised the Travel Advisory for  to a Level 3: Reconsider Travel. (Gaza has always been a Level 4: Do Not Travel). Applications to Global Learning Office programs (undergraduate study abroad) in Israel are closed for the 2024-25 school year. Other potential travelers should be aware that security conditions remain unpredictable. As of July 31, many American and European airlines have suspended flights to and from Israel until further notice. Due to incoming projectiles from both Gaza and Lebanon, air raid sirens are periodically heard in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Golan Heights, which requires citizens and visitors to proceed to bomb shelters until receipt of an “all clear” message. Other changes in the security environment may result in the need to shelter-in-place or adjust internal travel plans, sometimes at the last minute.

OGSS strongly recommends postponing travel to Israel and the West Bank until further notice. Exceptions may apply for short-term, mission-critical research-related travel, but contact us to review the risks. Any 澳门六合彩开奖记录 traveler(s), including faculty and staff, intent on pursuing trips to Israel, the West Bank (or Lebanon) must receive confirmation of coverage for a non-medical evacuation from our assistance provider. See our Evacuation page for more information. OGSS can assist with this process.
