Employing MSP family members

Members of the Scottish Parliament (��˿��)

��˿�� can claim money back for "expenses" (costs). These must be costs from carrying out their duties in Parliament or helping their constituents.

The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body has to publish a register of ��˿�� who employ a close family member of another MSP.

This is a requirement of the Reimbursement of Members’ Expenses Scheme

A close family member for the purposes of the Scheme means:

a spouse, civil partner or cohabiting partner of the MSP
or a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the MSP or of a person mentioned in (a)
