That the Parliament recognises that 2026 will mark 20 years of LINKES meeting the needs of the community in Knightswood; notes that LINKES gets its name from Lincoln Avenue and Kestrel Road, which are the streets that surround the multi-storey flats where it is based; further notes that LINKES is a community-led group, started by and governed by local people; understands that its charitable purpose is to provide opportunities for learning and wellbeing and to utilise its community facilities for the benefit of the community and that it takes a community development approach to its work, which means that it aims to engage with people in the community and to ensure that services meet their needs and that they can become involved in the organisation; further understands that LINKES is proud of its place-based approach to supporting communities in poverty for almost 20 years, and that its programme of activities promotes wellbeing, brings people together and creates stronger, more resilient communities to live well and thrive; understands that its English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes have a long waiting list, its group programme is well attended, drop-in enquiries increase year on year, with over 1,000 in the last 12 months, and that its new community shop has just launched; believes that the staff and volunteers who run LINKES do a fantastic job, with the evidence of that being very apparent in the community, and congratulates them on their success, and 20-year anniversary.
