That the Parliament commends sisters, Kirsty and Shirley Macgowan from Stirling, on raising over £20,000 for the Stroke Association in memory of their late mum, Molly, who sadly passed away from a stroke in 2008 at the age of 62; recognises that the sisters have been committed to fundraising for over 15 years through a variety of sporting challenges, social events and community gatherings, including triathlons, ceilidhs and discos; notes that their most recent fundraising event, a "Cabaroke" night, took place at Stirling Indoor Bowling Club on 15 March 2025; acknowledges the personal dedication of the sisters and the involvement of Shirley’s daughter, Eilidh, in continuing their family’s support for stroke awareness; understands that stroke is the fourth biggest killer in Scotland and the leading cause of adult disability, and that nearly 600 people in the NHS Forth Valley area were affected in 2023 alone; commends the sisters’ efforts not only in raising vital funds but also in raising awareness of stroke prevention, treatment and recovery, and applauds their contribution to supporting stroke survivors and their families across Scotland.
