That the Parliament congratulates Dr Brian Patrick Murphy on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to heart failure therapies and to people with motor neuron disease (MND); notes that his distinguished medical career began at the University of Glasgow in 1990, where he achieved an intercalated BSc with first class honours and an MBChB with commendation; acknowledges his service as a consultant cardiologist across several hospitals in the west of Scotland from 2009 until his ill health retirement in 2019; understands that this included bringing advanced heart failure therapies to communities that were previously underserved; recognises his contribution to medical education through his roles at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow between 2012 and 2019; commends his dedicated campaigning work for motor neuron disease, including fundraising for MND Scotland, and wishes him continued success in his future endeavours.
