Aleisha Begg, Mackie Academy Pupil Secures a Place in the Springboard FutureChef National UK Final

That the Parliament congratulates Aleisha Begg, an S4 pupil at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven, on securing a place in the Springboard FutureChef National UK Final; understands that Aleisha presented a main dish of roast fillet of coley, crushed potatoes, smoked coley salad, tender stem broccoli, Shetland mussels, white wine sauce and dill oil, as well as a dessert of blood orange zest-scented cheesecake, with a Scottish heather honey Chantilly and a chocolate crumb, all cooked within a strict budget and timings; notes that the Springboard FutureChef competition is a national schools-based programme that supports the development of key life skills, while inspiring the next generation of chefs, and is the biggest school culinary competition in the UK; recognises that Aleisha was supported throughout the competition by her family and her home economics teacher, Miss Kirsty Wilson, while also receiving mentoring from Tyron Ellul, head chef at The Tollbooth restaurant in Stonehaven, and wishes Aleisha every success as she pursues an exciting future within the world of hospitality.
