Clydebank Football Club – West of Scotland Premier Division Champions

  • Submitted by: Marie McNair, Clydebank and Milngavie, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 09 April 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17117

That the Parliament congratulates Clydebank FC on winning the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division title; understands that a 5-0 victory away to Benburb on 5 April 2025 sealed the league in style, with five games to spare; recognises what it sees as the extraordinary achievement of the Bankies winning the league without being defeated, with 21 wins and only four draws, scoring 54 goals and conceding 15; believes that being crowned champions will be the highlight of a season in which the club made it to the fourth round of the Scottish Cup and its captain, Nicky Low, became its all time top scorer; congratulates manager, Gordon Moffat, and everyone at the club for their hard work and dedication paying off, and wishes the club all the best as it looks to complete an unbeaten league season and be recognised as invincible.
