Congratulating Marianne Ridland on Winning the Regional Final of the Independent Schools Scottish Young Musician of the Year Competition

That the Parliament congratulates Marianne Ridland, a pupil at Lomond School in Helensburgh, on her success in winning the regional final of the Independent Schools Scottish Young Musician of the Year Competition at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow on 23 February 2025; notes that the competition is run by Scottish Young Musicians, who hold a festival of music competitions throughout the year to provide a spotlight for young Scottish performers; understands that the win allowed Marianne to progress to the national final where she sang beautifully against talented performers from across Scotland; believes that Marianne has done herself, her family, her school and the wider community proud with her talented vocals allowing her to achieve runner-up in the competition; wishes her well for the future, and looks forward to seeing her succeed in her chosen career.
