Fort William, A Vital Hub for Scotland' s Tourism and Community

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the significance of the town of Fort William and its contribution to Scotland's tourism industry; believes that Fort William has a central role as the outdoor capital of the UK, attracting thousands of visitors each year to enjoy activities such as mountain climbing, sailing and skiing, particularly with the world-renowned Ben Nevis; celebrates its rich cultural heritage and history; notes what it sees as the town's importance as a thriving hub for the local community, with both residents and visitors benefitting from its facilities and vibrant atmosphere; highlights the appeal of iconic destinations in the area, such as the West Highland Way, Glencoe and the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, and commends Fort William for its status as an important destination for outdoor enthusiasts, history lovers and those seeking to experience the beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
