That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that US company, Halon Entertainment, will open a new £28 million animation studio in Glasgow; further welcomes that the state-of-the-art studio facility plans to create up to 250 jobs in the next three years; notes that the Los Angeles-based animation and visualisation firm has worked on various high-profile productions, such as The Batman, the Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, Planet of the Apes, and video games such as Fortnite; understands that Halon was attracted to the city of Glasgow due to its skilled workforce, strong tech ecosystem and world-renowned academic institutions, and believes that the new studio will create high-quality work opportunities in the city, and will be a great boost for Scotland’s digital tech and creative industries.
