That the Parliament recognises the ongoing contributions of Maslow’s Community Shop in Govan; understands that its purpose is to empower refugees, asylum seekers, and those experiencing poverty and hardship by enabling them to improve their financial and social situation and promote community cohesion; further understands that it does this through a volunteer-run second-hand goods shop that provides free clothing and household goods to asylum seekers and people in the local community who are experiencing hardship; recognises what it sees as the positive impact that its new van funded by The Clothworkers’ Foundation and The Robertson Trust will have on the local community due to increased capacity for donations; commends the volunteers on their commitment to improving the lives of those most disadvantaged in the local community, and applauds them for helping almost 500 families in the month of February 2025 alone.
