That the Parliament congratulates the Glasgow cycling charities, Women on Wheels and Sunny Cycles, on their successful Ride Bright event; believes that over 100 women and non-binary people rode their bikes together on International Women’s Day to highlight the need for safer and brighter streets; understands that three out of four women change their outdoor activity routines during winter and agrees that women deserve to feel and be safe while cycling; recognises the event’s contribution to raising awareness of safety in public spaces and the importance of accessible and inclusive cycling infrastructure; notes what it believes is the positive impact in encouraging women and non-binary people to embrace cycling as a form of socialising, transport and empowerment, and commends the organisers for their dedication in creating a vibrant, inclusive event that fostered a sense of community and solidarity.
