1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in private.


2. Building safety and maintenance:

The Committee took evidence from—

Paul McLennan, Minister for Housing, Stephen Garvin, Deputy Director, Building Standards, Alan Johnston, Deputy Director, Cladding Remediation, and Ruth Whatling, Housing Standards team leader, Better Homes, Scottish Government.


3. Building safety and maintenance (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting and agreed to write to the UK Government on funding for RAAC remediation programmes.


4. Cladding remediation programme (in private):

The Committee considered a draft letter to the Minister for Housing. Various changes were agreed. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft letter.


5. Council Tax inquiry (in private):

The Committee considered a draft letter to the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government. Various changes were agreed. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft letter.


6. Housing inquiry (in private):

The Committee considered a revised draft report. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the approach to promotion of the report’s publication.


7. National Planning Framework 4 annual review (in private):

The Committee considered its approach to its annual review of the fourth National Planning Framework. It agreed to a programme of evidence sessions later in the year.


8. Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered its work programme and agreed to a programme for its upcoming business planning day and to note correspondence from the Rural Affairs and Islands Committee on the draft Good Food Nation Plan. The Committee also agreed to postpone its first day of consideration of the Housing (Scotland) Bill at Stage 2 until 6 May.

 


9. Child poverty (in private):

The Committee agreed a draft letter to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice.
