The Committee agreed to take items 7 and 8 in private.


3. Judicial Factors (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence from—

Charles Garland, Interim Chief Executive and Patrick Layden KC TD,former lead Commissioner, Scottish Law Commission .


4. Instruments subject to affirmative procedure:

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

7. Scottish Languages Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the Scottish Government's response to points raised on the delegated powers provisions in this Bill at Stage 1. It agreed to report to the lead Committee, the Education, Children and Young People Committee.


8. Judicial Factors (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier in the meeting and agreed to write to the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service.
