1. Criminal Justice Bill (UK Parliament legislation):

The Committee considered the legislative consent memorandums lodged by Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs (LCM(S6)43) and (LCM(S6)43a). The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government on the issues raised and to invite the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs to give evidence on the LCMs at a future Committee meeting.

2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instruments—

 (SSI 2024/26)

 (SSI 2024/30)

The Committee made no recommendations in relation to either instrument. However, it did agree to write to the Scottish Government on the various issues raised in relation to the instruments.

3. Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform (Scotland) Bill(In Private):

The Committee considered a draft Stage 1 report. Various changes were agreed to, and the Committee agreed to consider a revised draft, in private, at its next meeting.
